Email Marketing Webinar Recap

During last month's Effective Email Marketing Tips webinar with Constant Contact, we highlighted key pointers for getting the most out of your integration between DonorPro and Constant Contact, tips on creating highly effective email newsletters, and advice on getting a larger percentage of your emails opened and read. Below, we've laid out and dug deeper into some of your lingering questions:

Three Ways to Improve Your Donor Data

This week's guest blog comes from Mark, a DonorPro Customer Care Specialist.

Event managers know all the event details in their heads: the childrens’ names, addresses of each attendee, their interests and connection to your organization, and more. Then they leave your staff - and that essential event information leaves with them. Good data management will maintain organizational memory, produce a more efficient delivery of the mission, assist in assessing goal progress, and most importantly: lead to continued successful events.

The QR Code Craze

DonorPro QR CodeAbout two years ago, I began to notice these black and white squares in my grocery store, in mailings, and on billboards. These squares are called QR Codes (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) and they work just like traditional bar codes that you find on any product. There is one main difference: QR Codes bring up a mobile website, email address, or a message. Essentially, they serve the purpose of “snap a photo for immediate info in your hand” rather than urging your viewer to write down a phone number or link.

With this week's announcement of Google+, Google's newest product (dubbed “Facebook Killer”), it's a perfect time to reevaluate your current social media initiatives. Make sure you are optimizing your live pages and find opportunities to improve your online activity. Before you dive into a new social media resource, whether it's Google+, Tumblr, or FourSquare, take a few moments to be sure that you are fully optimizing your current efforts. Let's start with Facebook.

It is the most efficient means of communicating organizational values to your audiences. Corporations and mainstream products seriously focus on their brands (and usually do a pretty great job). Think of Nike, Apple, Starbucks, and Coca-Cola just to name a few of thousands. But what about nonprofits?

A+ Customer Care

When is the last time you called into a customer service line? Consider how often you have been directed through automated responses, dial options for more information, and generic classical music to listen while you wait. Luckily, there is hope.

Gary Vaynerchuk is an author, social media guru, e-commerce pro, and an innovator worth following. He is on the forefront of revolutionizing the way business interacts with customers via the Internet. His most recent book titled The Thank You Economy begins by relating current customer service expectations to before the world of global commerce. Prior to world-wide shipping and outsourcing, the majority of American's purchases were conducted in our hometown. Business owners watched families grow, understood customers' needs, and cared about satisfaction. In the few decades since, the economy grew immensely and customer service standards were sacrificed.
