YMCA of Salt Lake City uses DonorPro

After Recommending DonorPro to Its Members, NARHA Selects DonorPro for Itself

Friday, June 4, 2010

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Denver, Colorado - TowerCare Technologies and NARHA are pleased to announce that NARHA has selected DonorPro, TowerCare’s web-based nonprofit constituent management and fundraising software, to manage their constituents and all of the organizations that interact with NARHA. NARHA’s use of DonorPro builds on the relationship that was established in August 2009 when TowerCare and NARHA entered an agreement to offer purchasing discounts of DonorPro to NARHA member therapeutic riding centers.

NARHA’s Interim CEO, Kay Green, said “I heard from many of our member centers how using DonorPro truly made an impact on their organizations, from helping to raise more money to increasing productivity. When the NARHA staff evaluated DonorPro for our own use, we were immediately impressed by how easy DonorPro was to learn and navigate and how flexible it was with ability for us to quickly configure our own fields, screens, forms and reports.”

“We have been working closely with NARHA members who are seeing great results with DonorPro including increased funding from individual donors and corporate sponsors,” said TowerCare Technologies President, Donna Myers. “And now, we look forward to working closely with the staff at NARHA to help them support the missions of their member centers.”

DonorPro is already used by many NARHA member centers including Hearts Adaptive Riding Center in Santa Barbara, New Jersey’s Somerset Hills Handicapped Riding Center, ManeGait and SIRE in Texas, Oregon’s Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center, River Valley Riders in Minnesota, Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center, and Mountin Hopes in North Carolina.

NARHA was formed in 1969 as the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association to promote equine-assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs. At almost 800 member centers, a total of 42,000 children and adults find a sense of independence through involvement with horses. These member centers range from small, one-person programs to large operations with several certified instructors and licensed therapists. In addition to therapeutic riding, a center may offer any number of equine assisted activities including hippotherapy, equine facilitated mental health, driving, interactive vaulting, trail riding, competition, ground work, or stable management. Through a wide variety of educational resources, the association helps individuals start and maintain successful equine assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs. There are more than 30,000 volunteers, 3,500 instructors, 6,300 equines and thousands of contributors from all over the world helping people at NARHA centers. NARHA’s website is www.narha.org.
